Katherine R. Johnston

Producer

Originally from the Midwest, Katherine has lived in the state of Alaska since 1997. Attended high school in Kenai during which she showed great interest and talent for radio production and advertising.  Katherine hosted her own radio program and helped organize several events for local community organizations before relocating to Anchorage to attend the University of Alaska Anchroage. There she studied Journalism, Public Relations, and Disaster Management. Katherine also studied broadcast communications while working directly for the UAA Journalism Department. After school she worked as an event planner for several non-profit organizations, and as an independent audio & video producer. After a spending time working in Los Angeles with her husband D.K. the two relocated back to Anchorage in 2010 with their company Tri-Seven Pictures. Her marketing and organizational skills were then put to work with Alaska Magazine and the Milepost. Today, in addition to her duties at Tri-Seven, Katherine is a Development Officer with HOPE Community resources, and together with D.K. are currently producing the web-base series “Alaska Filmmakers”.
